LOOKING FOR A GREAT PLACE FOR ROMANCE?
THE INN AT SPANISH HEAD IS A FAVORITE!

The Pacific Northwest is one of the most romantic destinations in the country and the Inn At Spanish Head is considered one of the best on the Oregon Coast, according to the 10th edition of The Best Places to Kiss in the Northwest, by Teri Citterman.

"If a room with an ocean view, a private deck, and dinner in a penthouse restaurant isn't romantic enough, why not throw in a personalized beach-art message drawn in the sand in front of your window for an over-the-top romantic experience? rooms in this cliff-side hotel offer spectacular views and are well appointed with comfortable new decor. Ground-floor rooms next to the beach come with full stocked kitchenettes and glassware, making a shared bottle of bubbly on your own balcony a must. At the Inn's Fathoms restaurant (see Romantic restaurants), you can choose from a vast selection of wines to accompany your meal, or try the Inn At Spanish Head's own private-label Sauvignon Blanc. The staff here works hard to deliver a unique visit for each guest -- from the beach art and easy beach access, to the official whale watching designation and recommendations for best tide pools, to the prime beach spots to explore during your stay." Oregon: The Ultimate Road Trip
By: Cherie Thiessen

In her online article relating her 363-mile trip down the Oregon Coast, Cheri Thiessen, found the Inn At Spanish Head a delightful place to stay the night. "Tossing off Tillamook and the thoughts of WWII, we roll over the hills to Lincoln City, 45 miles on. The Inn At Spanish Head hunkers on the beach. It's unique; structures can't be built down here anymore. Ask for room 331. Recently renovated, the compact suite has a kitchen, bar and a bed that's practically in the sea. There's great service at this venerable hotel, and a popular, romantic restaurant. After chasing tumbling clumps of sea foam, we retired to our balcony to guzzle California bubbly and watch beach walkers making similar fools of themselves." Read Cheri's article.

A Fresh Take On Beachfront Dining
By Niki Price, Oregon Coast Today

You never have to worry about dining alone at Fathoms Restaurant. If you get a seat next to the window, it won’t be too long before you have company: a seagull, pacing on the railing on the other side of the picture window. The bird looks in, catches your eye, watches your food and seems to be saying: “Hey. That looks pretty fresh.” Listen to that gull, friend. Chef Matt Polley, who has been running the kitchen since fall 2007, has put “fresh” at the forefront of kitchen operations. (more)
